It is good to take any course of learning to teach because when it comes to teaching writing you have to be a professional. The Web Design Corphttps://thewebdesigncorp.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8848173541879105971.post-29601750275427661842010-06-07T19:05:20.098-07:002010-06-07T19:05:20.098-07:00Hi Ryan:

Or look for something more reliable, stable?

One thing to consider: the more courses you teach, the more difficult it becomes to carve out time for your own writing. I sometimes think I would be better served slinging hash instead of grading papers - hahaha! But I don't teach Creative Writing - I teach expository essay-writing, primarily to remedial college students. Colleagues and friends who teach CW have a slightly less workload than I. Now and again I teach an upper division course and am in heaven - always a few solid writers in those courses.

Your blog is very interesting and I hope to visit again soon.

Best,

BirdBirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05048533325118829436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8848173541879105971.post-83900251350717876092010-05-06T15:13:46.083-07:002010-05-06T15:13:46.083-07:00Hey Anne - Thanks for passing this on. I have to agree, teaching is the gift that keeps on giving - I think it's one of those hidden gems that so many people just never try.

RyanRyan Edelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03758241690217530997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8848173541879105971.post-24565258251374700652010-05-06T03:55:54.953-07:002010-05-06T03:55:54.953-07:00Ryan - You said this sooooo well. The clarity that comes with such a revelation is incredible, and the satisfaction of helping your student overcome that weakness early in their writing careers is an awesome feeling. Teaching is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

This piece should be read by all writers who want to teach! I'm going to post it on my FB page in hopes that other writers will read it.

AnneAnne Willkommhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00348854696620012591noreply@blogger.com
